Tesla Solar Roof · Premier Certified
A roof that powers your home — beautifully.
The Tesla Solar Roof is a building-integrated solar system: tempered-glass solar tiles and matching steel tiles that replace your roof and your panels with one seamless, energy-producing surface. As a Tesla Premier Certified installer, OC Solar builds the Solar Roof to Tesla's standard across Southern California.

The transformation
Your whole home, reimagined.
Not panels on a roof — a roof that is the power. One surface, engineered and beautiful.
You’d never know it’s solar.
Tempered-glass tiles sit low and uniform. From the curb, it simply reads as the best roof on the street.
Curb appeal
Architecture, not equipment.
Up close, it’s tempered glass with the depth of slate. No racking, no conduit, no array breaking the line of your home.
- Low-profile glass tiles, close to the deck
- Active and steel tiles, visually identical
- A uniform, premium roofline

Curb appeal, metered
Beautiful by day. Powered after dark.
The roof banks sunlight all day. Powerwall 3 runs your home through the evening peak — and keeps the lights on when the grid doesn’t.
Find the solar
Solar, hiding in plain sight.

Watch the scan find the solar.
The gold roofline is the working roof: tempered-glass photovoltaic tiles on the sun-facing slope, converting daylight to power. From the curb, they read as slate.
The garage? Steel twins. Zero output.
Same profile, same color, no silicon. Matched steel tiles cover the planes that don't earn their keep — which is why you can't spot the solar from the street.
Stored in Powerwall 3 for the 4–9 PM peak.
And backup when the grid fails. Under NEM 3.0, your daytime energy runs the expensive evening hours — production, storage, and backup, all in the Tesla app.
The product, in detail
Solar built into the roof itself
Solar Roof PV tiles work like any solar system — sunlight becomes DC power at each tile, tiles wire in series into strings, and an inverter converts it to AC. The difference is that the solar IS the roof. Here are the verified specs from Tesla's SR72T3R tile datasheet.

Engineered to outlast the weather
These are tempered-glass tiles, not fragile panels. They carry the highest rating in every category that matters in Southern California — Class A fire (critical in WUI wildfire zones), Class 4 impact for hail, and an up-to-194 mph ultimate wind rating — plus IBHS Fortified and California Cool Roof compliant assemblies. They're light (3.34 psf), rated to 150 psf of snow load, and operate from −40 °F to 185 °F.
- Class A fire · Class 4 hail · up to 194 mph wind — top class in each
- WUI wildfire, IBHS Fortified & California Cool Roof compliant
- Backed by a 25-year tile, weatherization, and power warranty

Beautiful from every angle
Because the active and inactive tiles are visually identical and sit low to the roof deck, a Solar Roof reads as a refined, uniform roof — not a grid of panels. It's the option for homeowners who care how their home looks from the street as much as how it performs. We'll show you renderings of your actual roof before anything is ordered.
- Low-profile glass tiles for a clean, uniform roofline
- Active and inactive tiles look the same
- See a rendering of your real roof before you commit

It's a building-integrated solar system that replaces your roof and your solar panels at once. Tempered-glass solar tiles generate power, while visually matched steel tiles cover the rest of the roof — so the whole surface looks like one seamless, premium roof rather than panels mounted on top.
