What to check

Read the record like a homeowner, not a contractor

The official CSLB checker puts the useful fields in one place. Use the same four checks for OC Solar and every other company you are considering.

01

Match the identity

Confirm the license number and legal business name match the company and the contract in front of you.

02

Read the current status

Use the live CSLB result—not a screenshot or sales handout—to review the license status and the classifications shown.

03

Review bond and coverage

Check the public bond and workers’ compensation fields included in the official license record.

04

Check the history

Review any public complaint disclosure or other record notes before you compare proposals.

Your consumer protections

Every residential solar contract in California includes important protections, which we provide at the point of sale:

  • The CSLB Solar Energy System Disclosure Document, showing total system cost (including financing) and the assumptions behind any savings estimate.
  • A 3-day right to cancel (cooling-off period).
  • Clear information on how to file a complaint and with whom.
  • For PACE financing, the separate PACE Financing Estimate and Disclosure.

Equipment credentials

Manufacturer certifications

OC Solar is a Tesla Powerwall Premier Certified installer and works within the installer programs of Enphase, Q CELLS, REC, and SolarEdge. You can verify our certification status on each manufacturer's public installer directory.

After the paperwork

Verify the contractor. Then verify the plan.

Ask us who owns each step, what is included, and how the design fits your home. A clear answer should be as easy to check as the license.
