The completed IID Coachella Valley project

Storage-backed solar for eastern Coachella Valley cooling loads

La Quinta sits inside IID's electric service territory rather than SCE's CPUC NEM 3.0 grid. Pairing the 12.04 kW rooftop array with a Powerwall 3 and DC expansion unit gives the household stored solar capacity for afternoon and evening air-conditioning demand as well as configured backup loads during desert grid outages; actual backup duration and bill impact depend on household usage, reserve settings, weather, and IID rate schedule.
