Irvine, California | July 22, 2025 — The renewable energy industry faces significant challenges as federal funding cuts threaten programs that fueled rapid growth over the past four years. However, the solar sector achieved record milestones in 2024, with the largest annual capacity additions in over two decades. OC Solar contributed to this achievement and earned recognition as a 2025 Top Solar Contractor by Solar Power World.
The Top Solar Contractors List represents the most prestigious annual recognition of solar installation companies across the United States. Compiled by industry publication Solar Power World, the ranking identifies solar installers working toward grid decarbonization and domestic energy independence. Companies are organized by service type, market segment, and geographic location, ranked by 2024 installed capacity measured in kWDC. OC Solar achieved a national ranking of No. 203.
"At a time when the federal government is doing everything it can to cut solar power down, the gigawatts put up by our 2025 Top Solar Contractors emphasize just how crucial it is to our nation's energy mix," stated a Solar Power World representative. "From the smallest residential projects to the largest utility-scale solar farms, these installations are keeping the lights on and keeping power affordable."
The United States installed approximately 50 GW of new solar capacity in 2024, with solar and storage projects comprising 84% of all newly added electric generation capacity. Top Solar Contractors face headwinds from policy changes, yet growing demand for rapid energy infrastructure development creates continued opportunities. OC Solar expects to expand significantly within the coming year to address customer needs across its seven-county service region.
OC Solar currently employs over 100 workers and completed 5,976 kW of solar installations in 2024. Since launching in 2016, the company has finished more than 3,000 residential solar projects. The organization prioritizes restoring contractor credibility through dependable service delivery, transparent business practices, and demonstrable results.
